2019 Summer Campsite Contest

Mosaic Forest Management Kicks Off Camping Season with Photo Contest

Mosaic Forest Management is kicking off the unofficial start of summer this May long weekend with its annual camping photo contest. The contest invites Vancouver Island campers to celebrate the best of summer across the Island and in Mosaic’s 11 campgrounds.

The contest encourages residents and visitors to capture those truly unique West Coast moments in B.C.’s great outdoors, whether it involves fishing, swimming, paddle boarding, roasting marshmallows or simply enjoying a serene moment in nature. Mosaic invites campers to enter their favourite photo for the chance to win one of two 14-day camping passes, valid at any Mosaic campsite.

“Nothing says summer better than getting outside and safely enjoying the magnificent natural environment with friends and family. Our campsites provide a backdrop for the memories that will last a lifetime, and we want to celebrate and share those moments,” said Domenico Iannidinardo, Mosaic Forest Management’s Vice President of Forest & Sustainability and Chief Forester.

More than 10,000 campers on average stay at Mosaic’s campgrounds each year, with last year’s photo contest receiving hundreds of entries. The images captured the essence of camping on Vancouver Island, with the winning shots including a peaceful scenic moment at Old Mill campsite at Nanaimo Lakes and a silhouette of a father with his two sons standing at the end of Wokas Lake in Campbell River.

About Mosaic Forest Management

Mosaic Forest Management was formed in November 2018 by the owners of TimberWest and Island Timberlands to share facilities, align best practices and enhance forest stewardship.

On behalf of TimberWest and Island Timberlands, Mosaic contributes to environmental conservation initiatives and community-based programs. We work closely with our neighbours on numerous initiatives with far-reaching benefits on Vancouver Island and Coastal B.C. Through strategic partnerships on access, together we can reduce the risk of fires, prevent damage to the trees and sensitive plant ecosystems, protect endangered species habitat, and avoid vandalism and dumping.

Access is available in designated locations for groups with appropriate insurance and agreements in place. Find out more at mosaicforests.com.

Fire Warning

Due to warm, dry weather conditions and an increase in the fire danger warning, please use extra caution with any fire activity. For the latest safety information and updates involving Mosaic lands, please visit our Facebook page. To report a wildfire, call 1-800-663-5555 or *5555 from a cellphone.
