Mosaic Achieves Progressive Aboriginal Relations Gold Certification from the Canadian Council of Aboriginal Business

Canadian Council of Aboriginal Business (CCAB) recognized Mosaic Forest Management with the Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) Gold certification, making it the first and only timberland owner in Canada to achieve this standard of excellence.

CCAB’s PAR certification program rigorously evaluates performance and impact in key areas important to Indigenous communities, including Leadership Actions, Employment, Business Development and Community Relationships. Supported by independent third-party verification, certification under PAR confirms Mosaic is a committed partner with policies, systems, and resources dedicated to achieving positive outcomes for Indigenous businesses and communities.

“Progressive Aboriginal Relations Gold certification from Canadian Council of Aboriginal Business reflects our efforts over many years in contributing to economic reconciliation,” said Rob Gough, Mosaic Forest Management’s President and CEO. “Indigenous communities are our neighbours, Indigenous businesses are our partners, and Indigenous peoples are key members of the Mosaic team. Our company is committed to building a better future together.”

Mosaic’s Gold certification builds on the company’s previous Silver certification in 2020. Key efforts since then include contributing a portion of the proceeds from the sale of carbon credits from the BigCoast Forest Climate Initiative to the Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAs) Innovation Program for cultural research, hosting staff and contractor learning events to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and continuing to develop business opportunities, advancing scholarships for Indigenous students, language revitalization and donating cultural logs to local First Nations.

“Each year, we are proud to announce a growing number of companies committed to creating positive, meaningful relationships with Indigenous businesses and communities,” said Canadian Council of Aboriginal Business President & CEO, Tabatha Bull. “I admire the dedication of Mosaic Forest Management and other PAR Gold companies for furthering economic growth and opportunities with Indigenous businesses. Participating in the PAR program requires action and accountability and is a step forward in economic reconciliation.”
