Mosaic’s Annual Holiday Season of Giving Campaign Supports Local Communities
Nanaimo, BC —Mosaic Forest Management’s annual Season of Giving campaign is an opportunity to give back to charitable organizations in British Columbia. This year Mosaic is proud to announce it will donate $40,000 to local community and school food programs.
“With the rising cost of living clearly impacting food prices, it’s clear that food banks are serving more people while seeing the purchasing power of their donation dollars diluted,” said Mosaic’s President and CEO, Rob Gough. "Our annual Season of Giving campaign provides support to organizations that are doing the important work of reaching those in need in the communities where we live, work and play."
“We truly appreciate Mosaic’s support for the students who benefit every day from our school food program,” said Lori Hryniuk, Principal at Lake Cowichan Secondary School. “With this donation, our food program can continue to provide all our students access to nutritious meals, and no child is left hungry."
Brent Wilken, Principal at Cortes Island School, shares a similar sentiment. “The extra funding will help facilitate hiring a coordinator and cook for our hot lunch program and will help ensure students are receiving a warm meal at school weekly.”
“As we’ve seen an increase in need again this past year with as many as five new citizens of the Comox Valley signing up for our services daily, the generosity helps us to stay ahead of an unforecastable curve in usership,” said David Reynolds, Executive Director of the Comox Valley Food Bank.
Now in its third year, Mosaic's Season of Giving campaign supports local organizations helping to provide access to nutritious food to those in need. More than 30 organizations will receive support this year, including:
ADSS Breakfast Club through Alberni District Secondary School
Cowichan Valley School District 79 through Nourish Cowichan Society
The Salvation Army - Alberni Valley Corps | Giving Hope Today
Quadra Food Bank through Quadra Island Recreation Society
